I wanted to take a moment out of our busy schedules to acknowledge our community members who donate time, money and other important contributions that help make our community great! These people are the unsung heroes of a community doing their part to make this beautiful town a better place for all of us.
This week I want to introduce you to Donna Steele.

Donna has lived in Grand Valley for 20 years and has been an active part of this community since she arrived. Donna has many talents and is very generous in sharing them with the town and its residents.

It is not often you see Donna without one of her canine friends, most notably her loyal companion Roo(see Canada Day picture above). Donna and Roo are our Grand Valley “dog whisperers” and have been very helpful with advice, time, dog walks/sitting and tips to local residents and their furry companions.

Donna has extensive knowledge about landscaping and horticulture that comes from working at Garden Centres as well as her own hard-fought knowledge. Donna maintains the lawns and gardens of some local residents as well as some of the town’s properties.

When Donna isn’t driving a School bus, landscaping, walking dogs, playing baseball, curling, volunteering around town or at Knox Presbyterian Church you will find Donna canoeing, paddling and camping. Donna is an experienced outdoors woman and has lead many outdoor excursions over the years into Algonquin Park and beyond.
Thank you, Donna, for your time, efforts and enthusiasm. Our small town and its residents are better because of it!
