I wanted to take a moment out of our busy schedules to acknowledge our community members who donate time, money and other important contributions that help make our community great! These people are the unsung heroes of a community doing their part to make this beautiful town a better place for all of us.
This week I want to introduce you to Randy McClelland.

If you have been to a community event in Grand Valley you probably recognize Randy from the picture above even if you didn’t know his name.
Randy has lived in Grand Valley since 1982 and has been a community volunteer as a Grand Valley Lions member since he arrived. The Grand Valley Lions Club is committed to serving the community we live in and making it a better place for all and Randy is an enthusiastic ambassador of that mission.

Randy has been front and centre in helping organize, plan and volunteer at the countless Lion’s club events and initiatives that are run in town such as:
Duck Race Day, Polar Bear Dip, Little Lions Learn to Skate program, Splash Pad fundraising, supporting Air Cadets and Grand Valley campground management to name a few.

Randy has also spent countless hours involved in Hockey and Baseball in Grand Valley. Randy served on the executive of minor hockey as well as minor baseball where he also coached.
Many people do not know this but Randy also started and ran the Sunday co-ed recreational ball league 15 years ago that is still running today!

Thank you, Randy, for all your countless hours of hard work, dedication and enthusiasm. Our small town and its residents are better because of it!
