Before we get into the notes I just wanted to make a point of clarification as I would like to avoid miscommunication and information being taken out of context.
The notes below are my interpretation of what I hear at the meetings for the time I am present and they include matters which I think the public will want to be aware of.
These notes are not fully inclusive of all items on the agenda and are not verbatim notes. If you have questions or want clarification about anything I have noted I would definitely recommend reading the official agenda first provided below as well as reading the official meeting minutes when they are available.
My intent for these posts is to keep the community informed regarding what is happening in town as I know it can be difficult to attend meetings and read through all of the agenda’s and minutes.

Staff Reports
Fence/Pool permit process discussion-cost has been increased and a process for all staff to follow to ensure that the applicant is in compliance. Some new wording was added to help clarify some points on the permits. Council approved revisions.
Council Remuneration and Expenses 2019- council received and will be posted on the town website.
Public Works-Verbal Update
Busy with snow removal and removal of fallen trees and branches
Christmas lights should be coming down this week
Leeson street Radar sign will be moved to Main Street near the Fire Hall.
Update to Winter Sidewalk Maintenance list to include Mill street including the roundabout
Presentations
Joanne Jordan, Rural Response Community Engagement Facilitator, Family
Transition Place – Rural Response Program -support women in crisis in Dufferin County, reduce barriers for under-served women living in the rural communities of North Dufferin. More details can be found here.
Town Planners Report
Crozier Street Lot- Currently notice period in effect for the appeal process.
Webb Street- Nothing to report
Scott St Development- Nothing to report
Coreseed-Planner sent a report to the County for lands out of the boundary, waiting for a response.
Cachet Homes-nothing to report
Thomasfield- Phase 3A model home approved
Peer Review monitoring of ORICA site- sent to ORICA waiting for a response
Trailer Park Committee- Another meeting set for March 2nd.
Dufferin County Municipal Comprehensive Review- More details here Planner to provide updates after attending the meetings.
Proposed Workshop for the council to discuss Urban Planning for the town- this will be a workshop for the council and no decisions will be made at this workshop. Approved and planned for March.
Public Meeting
Application B1-2020, for a Technical Consent under section 53 of the Planning Act. Submitted by Brian Mournahan on behalf of Alice Mournahan. The purpose and effect of this application is to permit a Technical Consent, to recreate the original Town lots of approximately 40ha (100 acres) along the originally surveyed lot lines.
Pending Items List
Parking and Ticketing- By-law approved, fee scheduled approved and now waiting for tickets to be printed.
Committee Minutes and Recommendations
Fire Board- Member of the public asked about if the truck sitting outside will be sold?
Community Centre Board-Centre not designated any longer for Emergency Shelter (Trailer for this use to be coming from Dufferin County), 2020 Budget passed, walking group not running any longer.
