Before we get into the notes I just wanted to make a point of clarification as I would like to avoid miscommunication and information being taken out of context.
The notes below are my interpretation of what I hear at the meetings for the time I am present and they include matters which I think the public will want to be aware of.
These notes are not fully inclusive of all items on the agenda and are not verbatim notes. If you have questions or want clarification about anything I have noted I would definitely recommend reading the official agenda first provided below as well as reading the official meeting minutes when they are available.
My intent for these posts is to keep the community informed regarding what is happening in town as I know it can be difficult to attend meetings and read through all of the agenda’s and minutes.

-Colin Smith, Regional Manager, Intact Public Entities – 2024 Town of Grand Valley Insurance Program-**** I could not find any agenda items that corresponded with this presentation. My notes are: CyberSecurity Insurance quote came in less than anticipated.1.7% increase this year which presenter said is less than typical due to the decrease in Cybersecurity coverage.

By-Law Enforcement-Report – By-Law Enforcement Status Update – January 2024- Page 21 on Agenda
Recreation Facilities Manager-Report – Recreation Facilities Manager Update-Page 24 on Agenda
CAO/Clerk-Treasurer
-Report – Treasurer’s Update- Page 26 on agenda– Council discussed- Vehicle costs, staff uniforms & property tax arrears.
-Report – Procedural By-law Amendments-Page 37 on Agenda– Council reviewed and discussed. One of the changes of notes is that Public will no longer be able to address council in person during council meetings (Public Question Period). Public will be required to submit a question in writing in advance of council meetings.
Report – Assumption of Cachet Phase 2 Subdivision, Plan 7M-75- Council discussed, Councillor Latam asked if the length of this process was typical, CAO confirmed it is. Page 69 on Agenda. Council approved and accepted the assumption.

-Reduced Load Season – verbal update- Council Discussed, the town has the load restriction notifications
