Before we get into the notes I just wanted to make a point of clarification as I would like to avoid miscommunication and information being taken out of context.
The notes are what I perceive as highlights from the council meeting and are my interpretation of what I hear at the meetings and they include matters which I think the public will want to be aware of.
These notes are not fully inclusive of all items on the agenda and are not verbatim notes. If you have questions or want clarification about anything I have noted I would definitely recommend reading the official agenda first (link provided below) as well as reading the official meeting minutes when they are available. You can also watch the video recording of the council meeting to get the full context.
My intent for these posts is to keep the community informed regarding what is happening in town as I know it can be difficult to attend meetings/watch the recrodings and read through all of the agenda’s and minutes.

Amy’s Highlights of the Town Council Meeting

Deputations-Decision Proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment 034541 Concession Road 8-9 Roll#12400 – Agenda Item 12.1.1- Delegates provided written letters, you can access them here as attachments when you click on the Jan 13th agenda meeting. Full details on the zoning by-law amendment can be found on page 36 on Agenda– Council discussed and approved.
Public Questions-School Parking Issues – Nathan Durham- Page 35 on Agenda. The lack of parking/drop off/pick up space at the school continues to come before council in the last few months.
Council discussed, on one hand unless vehicles are booked illegally than this is not a town issue, this is an issue for the school/school board. The town has provided additional parking at the community centre for pick up and drop offs. Council directed staff to book another meeting with the school board to see if they can provide some insight for a solution.
Credit Card Payment Acceptance Policy- Page 131 on Agenda Council discussed and put forward a motion that it be deferred to the next council meeting and that staff investigate a single third provider for service for credit card payments.
