Before we get into the notes I just wanted to make a point of clarification as I would like to avoid miscommunication and information being taken out of context.
The notes below are my interpretation of what I hear at the meetings for the time I am present and they include matters which I think the public will want to be aware of.
These notes are not fully inclusive of all items on the agenda and are not verbatim notes. If you have questions or want clarification about anything I have noted I would definitely recommend reading the official agenda first provided below as well as reading the official meeting minutes when they are available.
My intent for these posts is to keep the community informed regarding what is happening in town as I know it can be difficult to attend meetings and read through all of the agenda’s and minutes.

Public Works
Report – Leeson Street Traffic Calming Project Update- Page 131 on Agenda
Recommendation THAT Council receives the Report-Leeson Street Traffic Calming Project Update and directs staff to proceed as proposed based on town engineering approval. July 12th is the projected installation date.
Planner
Report PLN12-2024 – Status and Recommendation – 100, 108 and 114 Emma Street – Golden Canadian Homes Inc.- Page 134 on Agenda
Recommendation-THAT Report No. PLN12-2024, dated May 28, 2024, be received;
AND FURTHER THAT Council revoke the 18 Single Detached Equivalent (SDE) of allocation currently allocated to the proposed development located at 100, 108 and 114 Emma Street in the Town of Grand Valley; AND FURTHER THAT Council direct staff to close Site Plan Application File SPA03-2018 and return all the necessary Securities ($6500) held for the development. Councillor Latam asked for a recorded vote and the motion was passed. Council Approved and directed staff to remove staff time spent and further that the allocation be reserved for infill.
Report PL13-2024 Vision Grand Valley – Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Update Project -Background Report- Page 143 on Agenda
Recommendation-THAT Report No. PLN13-2024, dated May 28, 2024, be received; AND FURTHER THAT Council adopts the Recommendations outlined in the J.L. Richards & Associates Limited Background Report attached to this Report as Appendix 1: Background Report – May 21, 2024 and Appendix 2:Council Presentation AND FURTHER THAT all Agency and Public Comments continue to be referred to Planning and J.L. Richards & Associates Limited, to be considered in the Vision Grand Valley
project.

Report – By-Law Enforcement Status Update – See page 229 on Agenda– Council Received and approved.
Report – Revisions to By-Law 2023-29 Enforcement of Parking on Private Property By-Law- Page 232 on Agenda– minimal changes but it needed to be updated. Council received and discussed, council directs staff to prepare the bylaw for passing.

Report – New Recreation Employee- Page 240 on Agenda
Recommendation
THAT Council receives Report – New Recreation Employee AND THAT Council approves the revised job description as presented and authorizes the recruitment of one new Recreation Programmer and Facility Operator.
