I have included updates on the kiddos below, Doug keeps his calendar full with teaching and is very active at the Gym doing CrossFit. He also still enjoys playing Baseball in the summer and Hockey in the winter. Doug is always willing to step up and coach the kids activities so he coached Duncans Baseball this summer and Rosslyn’s hockey this winter.
Travel was again a big focus for this year as we feel like we need to take the opportunity to get out there and explore while the kids are at the ages that they still want to travel with us!
We had a fun travel experience going on our first ever Cruise in March on the ship “Oasis of the Seas” with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, we stopped in Jamaica and Bahamas and we all had a great time. The food was excellent as were the activities and we have a great time together as a family (along with Myles friend Caleb from College).
My parents treated us to a family trip to Mexico at the beginning of January and we also got to spend a week with them at a cottage they rented in the Haliburton area this past summer.
Myles
Myles finished up his 2 year Construction program at Conestoga College in May this year, he also got his AZ license (this has always been a goal for him in life and on his Dads side they have generations of Truck drivers). Myles and his girlfriend Serena were able to go on a Disney cruise together with her family and he also joined us for our Cruise in March so he was spoiled in terms of travel. Myles is working full time in Carpentry and he continues to owns operate his car detailing on nights & weekends. He also started a Christmas light installation business with his friend and just got accepted on as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Town of Orangeville.
Duncan
Duncan has been thriving in his new school, he is now in his second year there and in Grade 8. Duncan started a Dungeons & Dragons club at his school and helps out as a library helper as well. Duncan played Baseball again this summer and got hired as an Umpire (he loved it). Duncan switched up his winter activity this fall and decided to give hockey a break and try curling. Duncan is loving it and has also started playing a card game called Magic the Gathering once a week at a place in Orangeville call Fantasy Forged. Duncan has also kept up his paper route often with the help of his “employee” Dad 🙂
Rosslyn
Rosslyn is in Grade 7 now at the Public School in Grand Valley, Rosslyn keeps involved with school leadership activities including being a lunch helper and in the eco club. Rosslyn walks a little girl to school in the mornings and walks a pair of siblings home in the afternoon. Rosslyn did swimming lessons this summer and made the switch to girls hockey this fall and is having a great time.
The Steele Family Pets
Gideon will be 10 this year Luke 3 and Molly 3 as well. They keep us on our toes but they are all much loved members of our family. They are thankfully all happy and healthy.
Amy’s Real Estate News
Real estate has kept me busy again this year. Overall the local market experienced a big slow down from the Spring to Fall as we had a bunch of inventory hit the market all at once in the spring (likely people were waiting to list over the winter of 2023/2024 in hopes of a busier Spring market) however with decreased buyer activities from the interest rate increases a lot of properties were sitting for over 100 days on the market. Things seemed to improve marginally in the fall as the rate cuts were announced which brought buyers back to the market. We still have a good amount of inventory on the market though so we are far from the busy Covid market. I was blessed to work with amazing clients who trusted me to guide them through and I am happy to report that all my listings for 2024 are sold!!
